New data for the definition of neutron beams for Boron Neutron capture therapy

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) is neutron radiotherapy used to treat tumours cells previously doped with Boron-10. This therapy requires an epithermal beam for the treatment of deep and a thermal shallow ones. Thanks recent high-current commercial accelerators, Accelerator-Based Sources (ABNS) are competitive option providing therapeutic beams in hospitals. In this work, field generated by 7Li (p,n)7Be reaction at 1950 keV studied as source ABNS, being measured Time-Of-Flight (TOF) technique HiSPANoS facility (Spain). Moreover, two Beam Shaping Assemblies (BSA) tumour treatment, which specially designed field, evaluated BNCT via Monte Carlo simulations (MCNP). Results agreement International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) figures merit endorse use BNCT.
